Includes an open-date AMC Theater pass to see West Side Story!
You might think that after penning the masterpiece play Angels in America and scripts for Steven Spielberg for Munich and Lincoln, the Pulitzer-, Tony- and Emmy-winning Tony Kushner would take some time to sit back and enjoy his laurels.
But Kushner’s restless intellect never seems to take a break. So, his opus has kept expanding, with A Bright Room Called Day, with adaptations of Bertolt Brecht, a screenplay version of August Wilson’s Fences and dozens of other film and stage projects.
Now, as two of those projects - the hit revival of his musical Caroline, or Change at Roundabout Theatre Company and the long-awaited opening of Spielberg’s film version of West Side Story, which he adapted - electrify the Fall 2021 season. So it's with pride that The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center welcomes Tony Kushner to talk about his work, old and new, and about the journey of a Jewish boy from Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the pinnacles of Broadway and Hollywood.
