On 48 occasions, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s has filled Temple Emanu-El’s historic Main Sanctuary with the music of Dvořák and Mozart, of centuries-old favorites and upcoming composers, demonstrating the versatility of one of the country’s most distinguished classical music ensembles.
Now, the Grammy-winning orchestra returns once more with four of Johann Sebastian Bach’s beloved Brandenburg Concertos. Written in the Italian Concerto Grosso style, they were a gift to the Margrave of Brandenburg in 1721 and are considered pinnacles of the Baroque repertoire:
- JS BACH Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G Major, BWV 1049
- JS BACH Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, BWV 1048
- JS BACH Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D Major, BWV 1050
- JS BACH Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F Major, BWV 1047
Made possible by the support of Temple Emanu-El members Robert B. Menschel and Richard Menschel
